The CMS Data Reuse Program supports UCSF’s Population Health Data Initiative (PHDI) by providing access to valuable sets of data and research resources to expand research expertise in population health, health equity, and health services.
It is labor-intensive and time consuming for researching to obtain data directly from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). To overcome these challenges, the CMS Data Reuse Program has curated a large group of high-value, previously used CMS datasets across UCSF.
The CMS Data Reuse Program provides you with:
- Individual high-touch 1:1 support throughout the contracting process
- Reduced costs, including $2,000 data reuse fee
SUSTAINABLE SERVICES
The CMS Data Reuse Program reduces the cost of CMS Medicare and Medicaid datasets in addition to reducing contracting process time for researchers.
TECHNICAL TOOLS & CAPABILITES
The program provides access to research analysis application software like R, Stata, and SAS and programmer supportis available through recharge.
MINIMIZED RISK
Researchers reduce security risks by working in a secure and NIST-compliant compute environment with access to UCSF institutional data management plans.
