In collaboration with CTSI, UCSF Health, and UCSF IT, SOM Tech is developing UCSF's APeX-Enabled Research (AER) program and infrastructure to support researchers in utilizing UCSF's EPIC instance to advance their research and clinical trials. AER allows UCSF researchers to connect their algorithm, digital tool, or intervention with APeX, and the AER program is available to help and support researchers through every step of the process.
Working with the AER team provides you with:
- An AER-dedicated team and high-touch consultation
- Feasible plans and realistic budgets
- Evaluation of your EHR project by a standing safety and monitoring board
INTAKE & DISCOVERY
AER provides support from idea conception through opportunity planning and consultation, the grant submission process, and budgeting.
DESIGN & BUILD
Dedicated AER teams create feasible implementation blueprints.
EVALUATE
An established data and safety monitoring board provide evaluation in addition to embedded research study design support.
INFRASTRUCTURE
AER provides access to and support for randomization engines and SMART on FHIR and HIPAC platforms.
